The Buffalo Sabres announced the additions of former NHL forwards Milan Lucic and Derek Dorsett to their staff on Tuesday.
The Sabres added two experienced NHL players to their front office, with Lucic serving as a pro scout and Dorsett as a forward development coach.
Lucic, 37, scored 233 goals with 353 assists in his time with the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Calgary Flames.
The additions come as the Sabres look to build on their current standing, with a 50-23 record and 2nd place in the Eastern Conference as of their last result, a 2-3 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on 2026-05-18.
Dorsett, 39, enjoyed a 10-year NHL career, last playing with the Vancouver Canucks in 2017-18.
The Sabres will look to utilize Lucic's and Dorsett's experience to inform their scouting and development decisions, potentially impacting their roster for the upcoming season.
Lucic attempted to come back to professional hockey ahead of the 2025-26 season, but was released by the St. Louis Blues in November after five games in the American Hockey League.
He then signed with the Fife Flyers in England, posting five goals and 12 points in 26 games.
The Buffalo Sabres are currently on a L1 streak, looking to bounce back from their recent loss.
